Join Marco Castillo and other Cuban artists for a special artist talk at the Cranbrook Art Museum, moderated by co-curators Laura Mott and Abel González Fernández.
A Modernist Regime: The Contemporary Cuban Lens at the Cranbrook features two complementary exhibitions. Marco Castillo: The Hands of the Collector is a solo exhibition featuring work by the artist and prolific collector of Cuban mid-century design that he initially started to amass while part of the artist collective Los Carpinteros (1992–2018). Cuba Dispersa (Cuba Dispersed) features six artists and designers responding to the current conditions in Cuba as a creative class living in exile outside the country.
The talk is free with museum admission.
