Namedropping is an exhibition that questions the nature of status and why is it useful. What makes the big names big and why are we drawn to certain objects and people? Perhaps it is the essence a person may have, their spirit or soul that transcends their material state. Are works of art and specific people meaningful to us as a proxy for this essence? The artist Ai Weiwei, is one of international status and will have his work Dropping a Han Dynasty Urn, 1995 on view in the exhibition.
