Early photographers discovered and used most of what we now call “alternative processes” over a century ago. Today, contemporary artists are taking these traditional methods and infusing them with new ideas, expanding the possibilities of what photography can be. Fringe Practice showcases a range of techniques from cyanotype to chlorophyll printing and, although rooted deep in the history of the photographic medium, the work is inspired, innovative, and lies within the fringe of modern alternative process photography. Included in the exhibition are works by John Chiara and Binh Danh.
