For more than four decades, Andy Goldsworthy’s sculptural work has fascinated and inspired people all over the world. Engaging with stone, wood, soil, and plant material, Goldsworthy explores the boundaries of what is natural and what is cultural and asks if that dichotomy is even useful.
In this conversation, part of the College of the Atlantic's Summer Institute, the artist will speak with Dr. Courtney Martin of Yale’s Center for British Art about the evolution of his own thoughts about humans in and on and of the landscape. With visuals from past, current, and future ideas, the pair will touch down on many continents, including an examination of humans and landscapes at the COA campus, where Andy is currently involved in a work in granite curbstone called Road Line.
