Andy Goldsworthy’s site-specific, permanent project, Road Line, at College of the Atlantic marks the first permanent artwork by the internationally renowned British artist in the State of Maine. Comprised of a single continuous line of granite curbstones, Road Line begins its journey through campus at Route 3 and draws its path to the coast of Frenchman Bay. Granite has long historical resonance in the Northeast US, where Goldsworthy has actively worked with the still-thriving granite industry.
The College of the Atlantic campus is open to visitors, and those interested in exploring Road Line are encouraged to do so.
