Centering itself around photography as an experimental medium, the exhibition Alchemy of Light features artists who manipulate their materials or processes and use light as a creative tool. Alchemy of Light’s artists ask the viewers to abandon their preconceptions about photography and slow down in an age of quickly-consumed digital images. Collaborating with natural elements such as water, sunlight, time, and even ice, Meghann Riepenhoff forgoes the camera when constructing her images and exposes photo paper to a variety of environments.
