Drawn from the vast collections of The New York Public Library, is a large, multi-part survey of how the Arctic has been visually depicted, defined, and imagined over the past 500 years. The Awe of the Arctic: A Visual History features a range of mediums by contemporary artists as well as 16th-century explorers who have influenced and informed the public knowledge of the Arctic. Chris McCaw’s limited edition 2021 Cirkut publication with Datz Press will be on view in the exhibition.
