Vibranium, presented at the national pavilion of the Democractic Republic of Congo at the 60th Venice Biennale, is a thematic exhibition titled featuring work by seven artists and collectives that address the impact of extractive industries on their land and communities. Featured in the exhibition is Aimé Mpane’s Gold (2021), an installation comprising ingots carved from black Congo ebony, etched with the geographical coordinates of regions in Africa (and elsewhere) where the usurpation of gold has triggered conflict and war.
 
Vibranium presents work by Mpane alongside Eddy Ekete, Steve Bandoma, Jean Katambayi Mukendi, Kongo Astronauts, Cedrick Sungo, and Eddy Kamuanga, and is curated by Gabriele Giuseppe Salmi.
